The Bangladesh cricket team is preparing to take the field with a strong squad at the Asian Games. Ahead of the competition, the Tigers will hold a nearly two-week preparation camp on home soil. The camp will begin on September 13 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur and will run until September 24.

Bangladesh also has a quite successful cricket history at the Asian Games. Participating in the cricket event for the first time in 2010, Bangladesh won the gold medal. Subsequently, the team secured the bronze medal in the 2014 and 2022 editions. This time, Bangladesh is preparing with the aim of repeating past successes as well as achieving even better results.

Keeping the Asian Games in mind, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has already announced the best possible squad. Najmul Hossain Shanto and Hasan Mahmud have returned to the team after a long time. Both of them last played T20Is for Bangladesh in 2025.

Among the Test-playing nations participating in the Asian Games, India has also prepared to send a potentially strong squad. Although the squads of Pakistan and Afghanistan feature several national team star cricketers, a few key players have been rested. Sri Lanka has not announced its squad yet.

Based on rankings, Bangladesh will directly play in the quarterfinals of the Asian Games cricket event. On September 28, Bangladesh's opponent in the second quarterfinal will be the champion team of Group B.

Group B consists of Nepal, Malaysia, and Oman. The top team from this group will face Bangladesh in the quarterfinals.
