The original nameplate is once again being restored at the gate of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall at Dhaka University. The 'Shaheed Osman Hadi Hall' nameplate is being removed and replaced with 'Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall'. Around 2:00 PM on Wednesday, September 30, work began to remove the name 'Shaheed Osman Hadi Hall' from the hall gate.
Abdullah Al Noman, outdoor sports secretary of the Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall Union, posted a photo related to this on social media. In the post, he wrote, 'Many people get confused when they come in front of Mujib Hall at Dhaka University trying to identify the hall. From today, that confusion will no longer exist. The old name is being torn down.' Regarding this matter, Abdullah Al Noman said, 'The name "Shaheed Osman Hadi Hall" is being removed on behalf of the hall administration.'
When contacted to learn about the matter, Hall Provost Professor Dr. Md. Aktaruzzaman refused to speak about it over the phone. He said, 'Come to the hall office and communicate, you will get the appropriate information.'
Notably, following the death of Osman Hadi from gunshot wounds in December 2025, a group of agitated students had changed the name at the gate of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall to 'Shaheed Osman Hadi Hall'.
