Following the Prime Minister's directive, reserved-seat female Member of Parliament Ferdousi Ahmed Misti has submitted her resignation letter to Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed (Bir Bikrom). She submitted her resignation letter to the Parliament Speaker on Thursday around 2:00 PM.

Earlier, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman directed BNP's reserved-seat female Member of Parliament Ferdousi Ahmed Misti to resign. The Prime Minister's Press Wing confirmed the matter. She was expected to submit her resignation letter to the Speaker today, Thursday.

The possibility of Misti's resignation came to the forefront following the demolition of the Radda MCH-FP Center (Mother and Child Health Center) in Mirpur, Dhaka, last Thursday.

Late that night, an incident of attack, vandalism, and looting took place at the Radda health center. Allegations arose regarding the involvement of leaders and activists from various levels of the ruling party in the incident.

Additionally, there had been various controversies and complaints regarding Misti's past political activities at different times. While she was a ward councilor, various allegations including extortion, terrorism, and land grabbing existed against her. Due to these allegations, questions had been raised at various times regarding her political role.
