The Ministry of Liberation War Affairs has extended the deadline for submitting new applications for gazette notification as freedom fighters. These applications can now be submitted until October 7. The Ministry of Liberation War Affairs issued a public notice in this regard on Thursday, urging the concerned individuals to submit their applications within the specified time.

The public notice states that interested individuals must submit their applications by October 7, and no new applications will be accepted after this deadline. In a memorandum issued by the gazette branch of the ministry, the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) branch was requested to take necessary measures to publish the public notice on the ministry's website. The memorandum was signed by Deputy Secretary Haridas Thakur.

The ministry stated that applications and verification activities for enlistment as freedom fighters have previously been conducted at various times. The matter of gazette notification is resolved through a prescribed procedure after verifying the applicants' wartime roles, relevant documents, and other information. In this regard, there is a provision to scrutinize the applications through the National Freedom Fighter Council (Jamuka) and the related administrative framework.
