The Bangladesh Media Forum Australia (BMFA) has honored the journalists who traveled from Bangladesh to cover Bangladesh's historic maiden Test victory on Australian soil and the broader Bangladesh-Australia Test series.
The reception was organized to recognize the professional contributions of the journalists who came from Bangladesh to cover the entire series, including the historic match in Darwin where Bangladesh defeated host Australia by 9 wickets to secure their first-ever Test win in Australia.
Hosted by Humayun Kabir Rose and emceed by Galib Ibn Riyaz, the event commenced with a recitation of the Quran by Sayan Zaman, followed by the national anthems of Bangladesh and Australia.
Parramatta Council Lord Mayor Martin Zaiter attended the event as the chief guest. Special guests included lawyer Upol Amin, former Canterbury and Bankstown Councillor Mohammad Zaman Titu, Australia Bangladesh Press and Media Club President Rahmat Ullah, Australia Bangladesh Journalist Association President Mohammad Abdul Matin, Australia Bangladesh Press Club President Rashed Srabon, and Property One CEO Mohammad Ali Sikdar.
Additional guests included Bashabhumi Television CEO Akidul Islam, AB TV and News24 Australia correspondent AHM Masum Billah, Dainik Bongoloke Editor Ataur Rahman, Bishwo Dorpon Australia correspondent Haji Mohammad Delowar Hossain, Voice of Sydney Editor Arka Hasan, Sydney Protidin Online Editor Naim Abdullah, Dainik Kaler Kantho Australia correspondent Jahangir Alam, RTV Australia correspondent Akash Dey, and Dainik Bongoloke Executive Editor Mohammad Josim.
Also present at the event were former Canterbury and Bankstown Councillor Sajeda Sanjida, BNP Australia Vice-President AKM Fazlul Haque Shafiq, and other senior community leaders.
This event also marked the official commencement of activities for the newly formed committee of the Bangladesh Media Forum Australia.
Humayun Kabir Rose, former sports in-charge of Somoy TV and Ekhon TV, was elected president. Other appointed officials include General Secretary Imran Hossain, Vice-President Galib Ibn Riyaz, Organizing Secretary Nusrat Impa, Publicity and Publication Secretary Momena Sarkar Beauty, Treasurer Himu Akter, and Joint General Secretary Touhid Tutul.
