A video of three young women marrying the same young man in the Amroha district of India's Uttar Pradesh has gone viral on social media. Although the video shows wedding rituals taking place according to traditional Hindu customs, temple authorities have denied any knowledge of such a marriage. Meanwhile, the incident has also sparked legal and social controversy.
The viral video shows three women surrounding a young man and taking seven rounds around the sacred fire in accordance with Hindu religious rituals. Later, the young man applies vermilion to the parting of hair of all three women.
According to reports, the three women are named Saroj, Savitri, and Santosh. They are residents of Dhoriya village in Amroha district. Two of them are real sisters, while the other is their cousin. However, some social media posts have referred to all three of them as real sisters.
