Expatriate Nepali community participates in parkrun

Through the active participation of the Nepali community living in Sydney, Australia, 'Nepal Run Australia' is setting a brilliant example of health and social connection. In particular, members of the organization living in the Northwest Sydney region are regularly participating in local 'parkrun' events.

At recent events, members of Nepal Run Australia were seen running and walking in a festive atmosphere at the Rouse Hill and The Ponds parkruns. Alongside maintaining fitness, these weekly events have become one of the primary platforms for them to build their own culture and forge friendships.

Not just Rouse Hill or The Ponds, Nepali community runners are also regularly participating in the Elara Riparian Parklands parkrun and The Whalan Reserve parkrun beyond the Northwest.

According to representatives of the organization, their main goals are to maintain a healthy lifestyle and showcase Nepali culture to the local community. The spontaneous presence of Nepali expatriates of all ages, including women, men, and children, is visible at these parkruns organized every Saturday morning.

Nepal Run Australia plans to undertake various other programs in the future to further encourage the Nepali community in Northwest Sydney and surrounding areas in running and physical exercise.
