Asef Bakht Raad, the former organizing secretary of the Sunamganj District Chhatra League, has been arrested from Sylhet. Police arrested him from the Chowhatta area of the Sylhet metropolitan city on Tuesday morning. By noon, he was brought to the Sunamganj Sadar Model Police Station.
He is an accused in a case filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act. On Monday, a video of a sudden flash procession celebrating the birthday of Sheikh Hasina, led by Asef Bakht Raad, was uploaded to social media. Following this, he was arrested.
