No fees or additional charges will apply to transactions conducted via QR codes, stated Finance Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury. He said that initiatives have been taken to further expand Bangla QR-based transactions to build a 'cashless Bangladesh' and a digital economy.

He made these remarks on Thursday (October 1) while inaugurating product purchases using Bangla QR and inspecting QR-based transactions at the Banani kitchen market in the capital. Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Dutch-Bangla Bank Md. Ehteshamul Haque Khan was present at the time. The Finance Minister purchased a product using Bangla QR through the Dutch-Bangla Bank app.

The Finance Minister stated that people from all levels of society, including phuchka vendors, rickshaw-pullers, and small business owners, will be brought under the coverage of QR-based digital financial services. This will allow money to be easily received through QR codes into the accounts of various banks or service providers, thereby reducing the need to carry cash and making transactions simpler and faster. He mentioned that some technical problems might appear in the initial stage, but they can be resolved quickly. Under the initiative of Bangladesh Bank and with the cooperation of Dutch-Bangla Bank, nationwide awareness activities are being conducted to increase the use of Bangla QR.

Instant cashless transactions can be made using Bangla QR through Dutch-Bangla Bank's NexusPay and Rocket. The Finance Minister urged ordinary citizens, businesses, and service providers to participate in the initiative to build a safe and cashless economic system.
