A fire has broken out at a carton and yarn warehouse of Supreme Garments in Kashimpur, Gazipur. The fire originated around 10:15 am on Saturday (October 24). Nine units of the fire service are working to bring the fire under control.

Md. Saiful Alam Chowdhury, deputy assistant director of Gazipur Fire Service, stated that initially, a few units from Kashimpur started working to extinguish the fire. Due to the high intensity of the flames, additional units from nearby stations joined later.

The fire spread rapidly due to the cartons, yarn, and other raw materials stored in the warehouse. Panic gripped the surrounding areas due to thick black smoke.

Fire service personnel are trying to prevent the fire from spreading to the main plant of the factory and nearby buildings. The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage could not be known immediately. The cause will be determined through an investigation after the fire is completely extinguished.

According to the latest reports, efforts to control the fire were ongoing. No official casualties have been reported in this incident.
