Police detained four individuals during a special operation in Uttarpara union of the upazila on Monday night (October 26) on suspicion of their involvement with the banned Chhatra League. However, police reported that they are accused of creating an unstable situation.
The detained individuals are Md. Roknuzzaman alias Sohag (25), who is known as a ward Chhatra League president in Uttarpara union, Pearul Islam Musa (19), Sohel Hossain (21), and Mahmud Raihan (30). All of them reside in the Chokgora area of Mohadevpur upazila.
Naogaon Superintendent of Police Tarikul Islam confirmed the detentions in a press release on Tuesday morning. He stated that legal action is being taken against them in connection with this incident.
However, the press release did not provide details regarding the specific allegations brought against the detainees or the progress of the investigation into their involvement.
